Welcome to Oaklands Celebrants. I’m Denise and my purpose is to ensure the ceremonies that punctuate your journey through life, and those of the ones you love, truly honour your personal story.
Put simply, my role as a celebrant is to make certain that when I work with you – be it funeral, wedding, naming ceremony or any other memorable moment – you receive a ceremony entirely bespoke to you. There is no set formula, no rule book I have to follow: my job is to turn your unique wishes into reality.
I draw on my skills to really support you throughout the planning process, listening acutely to the details you divulge so I can offer a celebration that candidly tells your story; be it in remembrance of life, marking the start of new life, or unifying two lives together.
Having qualified with the United Kingdom Society of Celebrants (UKSOC) you can rest assured your experience of Oaklands Celebrants will be professionally delivered and with the utmost care.
Whilst I am based in Merseyside, I perform ceremonies wherever you choose across the North West of England. The sky’s the limit...

Those words precisely express my desire, commitment and confidence in creating a ceremony for you which is truly ” elegant” according to your unique and individual personalities and preferences.
My name is Helen Lesak and I am passionate about communicating your story at your ceremony to your gathering.
My experience comes from the culmination of my life as a wife, mother, churchgoer and a teacher of music and special needs – specialising in deaf education – supporting families from a variety of creeds and cultures.
Joyful presentations, beautiful music and meaningful words are synonymous with ” The Elegant Celebrant ” who would literally love to be ” at YOUR service ”
You may choose to have a themed ceremony with a symbolic element of hand fasting, jumping the broom or a wishing tree to reflect your hopes, dreams and values.
As family changes, services can reflect the arrival and welcoming of new members, marking these significant occasions according to your preferences – the choice is YOURS.
I will collect your history and, based on the essence of you, will craft your ceremony which will be joyous and unique, as befits your occasion.

I live in Ilkley, on the edge of the gorgeous Yorkshire Dales, and work mainly, but not exclusively, within a radius of 30-40 miles from home.
